Collaborative research project with Nottingham University, Beat and EDIFY
Placement student Jenny Tan co-produced advice on posting and viewing ED recovery content on social media.
Jenny was selected as one of eight experts by lived experience to work with researchers at the University of Nottingham, supported by the eating disorder charities Beat and EDIFY. The aim of the project was to design and produce guidance for both content creators and consumers when discussing eating disorder recovery on social media.
As a team, the panel of experts created two Instagram carousels, one directed at individuals posting online and the other aimed at those who might view the content. The tips are intended to support young people as they post about their ED recovery journey or view others’ recovery experiences. They encourage mindfulness, self-awareness and care in both posting and viewing.
