Mark Ashton

This represents a culmination of nine years of teaching and educational leadership at the University of Surrey, many in Surrey Hospitality and Tourism Management and, more recently, in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences (FABSS).

The Principal Fellowship of the HEA is given to "highly experienced individuals whose practice involves a sustained record of effectiveness in strategic leadership of high-quality learning. Their impact is extensive."

Professor Bebhinn Donnelly-Lazarus, Interim Dean of FABSS says: "I am delighted to see Mark's excellence in strategic leadership formally recognised in the award of a Principal Fellowship of the HEA: it is truly deserved. His dedication and enthusiasm in enhancing teaching inspires both student and colleague alike."

Mark adds: “I am very grateful to all my mentors, managers, collaborators and colleagues over the years for their support and guidance in helping me achieve this.”
