New partnership between Surrey Business School and Activate Learning
Surrey Business School and Activate Learning, a leading education group with campuses across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Surrey, are delighted to announce the beginning of a new partnership focused on educational excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
This partnership brings together two leading institutions with a shared commitment to supporting student progression, elevating teaching practices, and bridging the gap between further Eeducation and higher education. The collaboration will initially focus on key subject areas within hospitality, tourism, travel and event management led by Surrey Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) – a discipline at Surrey Business School.
Early initiatives already underway
The partnership is set to launch with several impactful activities:
- Webinars for Year 12 and 13 students and their parents offering essential insights into university life and future options.
- Near-peer mentoring opportunities for pupils interested in studying with SHTM, connecting them with current University of Surrey students to build confidence and provide authentic guidance.
- Campus exchange visits designed around industry-led themes, helping students experience new learning environments.
Dr Jonathan Skinner, SHTM's Director of Prospective Engagement and Outreach, said:
“We are delighted with this new partnership with Activate Learning and look forward to working with them to provide quality teaching, learning and training in the areas of studies that we are so equally passionate about. SHTM has a tradition of receiving pupils from Activate Learning Colleges and we look forward to consolidating on this, in addition to smoothing over the transition from College to University. We also look forward to welcoming Activate staff to our beautiful campus and and contributing to CPD, and sharing best practice in teaching and learning. This partnership has so much to offer!"
