Professor Neil Rickman appointed Fellow of the Royal Economic Society
Congratulations to Neil Rickman, Professor of Economics, who has been appointed a Founding Fellow of the Royal Economic Society (RES).

Fellowship of the Royal Economic Society (RES) is the Society’s highest level of membership and is only granted to those who have made a significant contribution to the discipline. RES Fellows hold positions of influence in the economic community and demonstrate invaluable economic knowledge, expertise and a commitment to promoting the vision, objectives and values of the RES.
RES Fellows work in academia, teaching, policy, the private sector, charity sector and beyond.
Professor Holger Breinlich, Head of Economics, says: “I am thrilled that Neil has been formally recognised for his championship of economics by such a prestigious organisation. Neil has a deep understanding of the discipline and an enviable facility to communicate and share his excitement of economic policy – no matter how intricate – to our students”.
Professor Rickman commented: “I’ve always enjoyed being involved with the RES so this is very much appreciated. I’m grateful to everyone in Economics at Surrey who's helped along the way: it’s a great group and I’ve been very lucky”.
