LARP games and immersive tourism: The digital transformation path of cultural tourism
With the rise of the experience economy and digital technologies, traditional tourism faces challenges of homogenized experiences and limited interactivity. While immersive tourism enhances engagement, its static narratives limit personalization. LARP games, with their dynamic storytelling and social mechanics, offer a potential solution to this gap. LARP games such as ‘Murder Mystery Games’ centered on storytelling, logical deduction, and social interaction which offer a novel approach to creating personalized and immersive tourism experiences. This research aims to develop an interactive design framework for integrating these domains, driving innovation in the tourism industry and contributing to interdisciplinary research.
