About
Biography
Claudia draws on more than 10 years clinical experience and combines it with her passion for teaching to reach her goal of empowering others in realising their potential. Having gained her adult nursing registration in Australia, her love of all things cardiac led to strong experience in acute cardiology and she developed skills in leadership and resuscitation. She also taught undergraduate nursing students on their placements whilst building her clinical career as a Cardiac Nurse Specialist in Melbourne.
In 2019, Claudia relocated to the UK and gained NHS experience in a specialist cardiothoracic hospital in London. She developed critical care and intensive care skills and further built upon her clinical expertise of cardiac nursing. Claudia has also worked in private hospitals as a Cardiac Ward Sister and an Arrhythmia Clinical Nurse Specialist and contributed to service improvement through innovative educational initiatives which led to refinement of patient care and nursing development. She has always enjoyed equipping teams of nurses with knowledge and skills to care for cardiac patients confidently and competently.
Following her passion in teaching and student development, she started a new chapter in 2026 when she was appointed Lecturer in Adult Nursing at University of Surrey. Claudia loves teaching ECG interpretation, rhythm analysis and cardiac conditions, bringing to life age old concepts in a dynamic way. She takes every opportunity to instil confidence in nursing students and aims to inspire them to take ownership of their learning journey in order to reach their potential in developing a rewarding career.
