Heather Lucas

I graduated from the RVC in 2012 and spent nine years in small animal practice. In 2021, following Covid, I joined the Veterinary Clinical Teaching Fellow team at Surrey on a fixed-term basis, supporting the rescheduled IMR placements while completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Education at the RVC.

I joined CVS in February 2022 in the newly created role of New Graduate Pastoral Support Vet. I still work in this role part-time, supporting graduates as they transition into practice and working with colleagues across the business to strengthen the experience of both graduates and VetGDP Advisers within CVS.

Before studying veterinary medicine, I completed a degree in Psychology at the University of Exeter and am passionate about pastoral care, mental health, and wellbeing. I'm also a trained Mental Health First Aider.
