Biography
Dr Gumeta obtained his PhD in Management Studies (Information Systems) from Cambridge Judge Business School in 2010, his Master’s degree (with distinction) in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems (ADMIS) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2002, and his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM, Mexico) in 1999.
Dr Gumeta is the Director of Business Management and Analytics at SII-DUFE, providing programme leadership for the BSc in International Business Management and BSc Business Management with Analytics. Additionally, he is the Senior Personal Tutor at SII-DUFE, overseeing a team of over 20 personal tutors in charge of about 1000 students.
Before joining Surrey, Dr Gumeta served as an Assistant Professor in the College of Business Administration at Gyeongsang National University, South Korea from 2010 to 2012 and as a postgraduate reach volunteer with Friends International in Edinburgh, Scotland from 2009 to 2010. Previously, he worked as Deputy Manager for Process Evaluation at the Mexican Tax Administration Service from 2002 to 2005, Head of Department for Energy, Infrastructure and Environment at the Mexican Regulatory Improvement Commission (2000-2001), and Project Industrial Engineer at Coats North America (2000).

Online information credibility among Chinese university students from an ELM perspectiveThe goal of this research is to gain some insight into the ways university students in Surrey International Institute, China and their counterpart students in Surrey Business School, Guildford evaluate the credibility of information from online sources. A comparative study will be used to assess pattern of information search from online resources.
