Biography
I joined the University of Surrey in 2026 as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing (Apprenticeships), bringing extensive NHS experience in clinical practice, medicines safety, and workforce development. Prior to joining Surrey, I worked as a Band 6 nurse within the NHS, where I led on competency‑based training for both registered and non‑registered staff, supporting safe, effective practice across multidisciplinary teams. My clinical background includes delivering high‑quality adult nursing care across community settings, with experience in patient assessment, clinical decision‑making, long‑term condition management, and leading safe delegation within busy multidisciplinary environments.
My background also includes designing and delivering structured training in medicines support, clinical skills, and governance processes, alongside contributing to service improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and quality of care. I have worked in apprenticeship quality assurance, supporting curriculum alignment, assessor development, and regulatory compliance through risk‑based sampling, standardisation, and continuous quality cycles.
I have a strong interest in values‑based education, widening participation, and supporting learners to develop confidence and professional identity.

I have substantial experience teaching and supporting both registered and non‑registered staff across NHS clinical settings.
