My research project investigates the quality assurance practices implemented by various stakeholders within the handpump supply chain. It aims to build a novel quality assurance framework which explains how nuanced contextual and institutional factors shape the practices of organisations working with handpumps. The outputs of the research will result in the development of Guidelines for Quality Assurance of Handpumps in collaboration with the Stop the Rot Initiative to provide user-friendly and accessible resources which promote a unified approach to handpump quality assurance.
