My research project
Beyond the Sensory Room: AI-Driven Curation of Neuro-inclusive Environments.Paulina's research explores how artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) can support people who experience sensory overload and high levels of distraction.
Her research addresses a gap in accessibility, which has traditionally attempted to address physical or mobility differences, by examining cognitive and sensory dimensions of user experience. Drawing on cognitive science and immersive media, she investigates how attention and perception can be aided by technology.
In her PhD, she explores how augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can adapt environments to the user, rather than requiring the user to adjust to their surroundings. Incorporating AI into prototype systems that reduce sensory overload by simplifying visual input and guiding attention toward relevant information.
Her long-term goal is to develop personalised, continuous support systems that help users remain comfortable, focused, and engaged in everyday environments.

Alongside her research, Paulina works as a 3D artist and creative technologist, developing immersive and interactive digital experiences. She has experience working in collaborative studio environments, creating visually driven work using VR, real-time technologies, and 3D workflows.
Her practice focuses heavily on 3D visualisation and animation, currently exploring creative coding and more expressive forms of 3D art. Through the use of animation, interface design, and immersive environments, she creates experiences that encourage exploration and understanding.
Her work is informed by an interest in attention, perception, and accessibility, aiming to produce outcomes that are both visually compelling and inclusive by design.
