About
Biography
Sophie Edward-Jenks graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005 and spent seven years working within the equine charity sector, gaining her CertAVP and an interest in geriatrics, welfare, donkey medicine and surgery. She has worked in private and charity practice in the U.K., Uganda, Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Sophie has maintained a keen interest in donkeys and mules and is particularly interested in the health and welfare of working equids, their links to the communities who depend on them, and their contribution towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Sophie joined the University of Surrey in February 2025 as a Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Practice (LVCP).
