"The University of Surrey’s high league table and student satisfaction rankings gave me a very good impression of studying and living here.

I applied to study MA Translation because I thought the course looked well-structured and closely linked to the industry’s needs for future translators.

To apply for the course, apart from good undergraduate grades, a well-structured and a clearly written personal statement is very important. The administration office was supportive throughout the course application and visa application stage.

The programme director was also very helpful and gave me a lot of useful information about the course.

"All my lecturers are very friendly and professional. Each lecture is carefully planned and well delivered and I get useful, fair, and detailed feedback on each assignment."

The library has a certain area just for language students so seats are always guaranteed when you need to use language-specific software or study.

I love Guildford; so close to London and not too far away from the Midlands, it makes it easier to travel to job interviews as well as enjoy a day out.

I live very close to Tesco, Surrey Sports Park, and the campus which is very convenient. The town centre is not far from the campus, you can always go to the pub or go for dinner with your friends. Buses run late into the evening and Guildford is a safe place so you don't have to worry about going out at night.

I feel like I’ve changed for the better since I started studying at Surrey. Life in general has improved and I am happy with my course - I'm constantly learning new things and I’ve met some amazing people, too."
