This event is free to attend but requires registration for both the online and in-person options.

Overview

This event will be opened by President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Max Lu. We will start the day with lightning talks from researchers at the University of Surrey presenting their Open Research case studies.

Our invited speakers include, Professor Andrew George MBE, Chair of the Committee on Research Integrity, Imperial College London, and Dr Tanita Casci, Director of Research Strategy and Policy Unit, University of Oxford will be presenting on the topics of research integrity and research culture.

The event will also include a round table panel discussion on the theme of debunking myths in Open Research and research culture, followed by a choice of two breakout discussion sessions (Option 1: UNESCO Open Science principles; Option 2: Wellcome café on research culture).

This is currently planned as an in-person event held in Austin Pearce lecture theatres 1 to 4, with online options for the talks and the panel discussion. Coffee and lunch will be provided for the in-person attendees.
