Academic staff meet up with graduates in India

Meeting up with our alumni wherever they are in the world is always a pleasure and we were delighted to welcome Surrey graduates to two receptions in India last week.

We arranged the get-togethers in Mumbai and Bangalore with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and the Dean, Graham Miller, and academic staff from Surrey Business School, Economics and the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management enjoyed the chance to catch up with our former students. One alumnus travelled 22 hours by train to attend our event in Bangalore!

All were interested to hear about the latest University news, and there were many offers of support to help with student recruitment and other Surrey activities.

Lucy Evans, Alumni Engagement Manager, said: “It was lovely our academics were able to host two events in India and find out what our alumni are doing now. There were some great conversations and we appreciate the support offered and look forward to working with them to promote the University to Indian students.”
