Global Challenges Forum

The University of Surrey is delighted to be launching a brand new programme of events – the Global Challenges Forum through which we hope to stimulate debate on the major world issues of today.

About the Forum

The Forum is a curated series of new and established lectures in which specially invited guest speakers will discuss their work to address some of the biggest societal challenges of our time and efforts to create a better future.

Lectures hosted as part of the Forum will take place twice a year and cover a variety of topics, including the following:

  • Poverty and international security
  • Sustainable energy
  • Climate change
  • Peace and conflict resolution
  • Major social equality issues
  • Carbon-water-food nexus
