Surrey Excellence in Teaching framework
The Surrey Open provides a pathway for teaching and academic-related staff to progress to Fellowship of Advance HE.
Surrey Open pathway
The Surrey Open Pathway is based on the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) and accredited by Advance HE.
This pathway offers an alternative route to professional recognition and Fellowship of Advance HE (Associate Fellow / Fellow/Senior Fellow) for experienced Higher Education professionals. It is a flexible, practice-based route which aims to contribute to the development of theoretically informed understandings and promote reflective practice while respecting disciplinary backgrounds.
Candidates taking this route will gather evidence of their professional development with the help of a peer mentor. They will then produce an eportfolio to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to professional development. All mentors are Senior Fellows of Advance HE and trained in mentoring. Additional support is available through workshops, writing retreats and resources available in Surrey Learn.
Benefits
The Surrey Open pathway is free of charge for contracted staff.
Assessment is through the compiling of an eportfolio.
