Looking to transfer from a US university? We’re here to help
We know that sometimes your study plans can take an unexpected turn, and when they do, new opportunities can arise. If you're currently studying in the US and are now considering continuing your degree elsewhere, the University of Surrey is here to support your next steps.
We welcome students who have begun their academic journey abroad and are looking to transfer into Year 2 or Year 3 of their degree. At Surrey, you'll find a wide range of programmes available across engineering, business, law, computing, the sciences and more.
We typically consider transfer applications from students who have completed at least two years at an accredited university, with a GPA of 3.2 or above, and appropriate subject coverage aligned with our curriculum.
We understand that the transfer process can feel complex, but we’re here to make it simple. Our flexible, student-centred approach means we’ll work closely with you to recognise prior learning and provide clear, personalised guidance, so you can plan ahead with confidence.
Surrey is known for its strong focus on employability, innovation and outstanding student experience. We’re consistently ranked among the UK’s top universities for graduate outcomes. Our safe, green campus is just 34 minutes from central London, and we guarantee on-campus accommodation for international students who meet application deadlines.
If you’re unsure about what comes next, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. At Surrey, you’ll join a welcoming and supportive community that’s here to help you settle in and succeed. Whether you’re looking to pick up where you left off, try something new, or simply find a place where you can thrive, we’re ready to help you make it happen.
Your next chapter starts here at Surrey.
