Professor Jane Powell appointed as Surrey’s new Vice-Provost Education and Students
The University of Surrey has today appointed Professor Jane Powell as Vice-Provost Education and Students.
- Professor Jane Powell to become Surrey’s Vice-Provost Education and Students, a new role which will assume responsibility for academic affairs and student support services
- Professor Powell currently holds the position of Deputy Warden with strategic leadership of Academic Development and Internationalisation at Goldsmiths, University of London
- She is a full member of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Neuropsychology and an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist.
A clinical psychologist who has conducted extensive research in her dual specialisms of addictions and neuropsychological rehabilitation, Jane currently holds the position of Deputy Warden with strategic leadership of Academic Development and Internationalisation at Goldsmiths, University of London.
She has held a wide range of previous academic roles including appointments as Head of Psychology, Head of the School of Culture & Society, and Pro-Warden for Research & Enterprise. In these positions she has developed organisational structures, led the development and implementation of academic, international and research strategies, and orchestrated Goldsmiths’ Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions. Jane is also currently on the Board of the University of London International Academy.
Following the recent re-alignment of the University of Surrey’s leadership team, the new role of Vice-Provost Education and Students will assume responsibility for both academic affairs and student support services.

Jane will take up the new role from January 2017.
