Surrey MBA launches new curriculum with student needs at the forefront
Surrey Business School is proud to unveil a transformation of its flagship MBA programme. Designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s professionals, the new Surrey MBA offers greater flexibility, deeper personalisation, opportunities to tackle real business challenges, and to graduate with a portfolio for a stronger career impact than ever before.

In response to a fast-changing, disruptive global business environment, enhancements to the programme are aimed at improving the overall student journey, accelerating career growth, and accommodating a wider range of learning styles and life commitments.
Introducing the Career Accelerator
At the heart of the new MBA experience is the Career Accelerator – a framework designed to fast-track leadership development, strategic insight, and career progression. Through bespoke coaching, live business challenges, and direct networking opportunities with industry, students gain hands-on experience that translates into real-world results.
New specialised pathways

Students can now tailor their MBA journey with specialised module options in one of three growth areas:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Entrepreneurship
- Hospitality and Service Leadership.
These pathways reflect not only global business demands, but also Surrey Business School’s research strengths and sector expertise. For those who prefer a broader approach, pathways remain optional - the flexible, "pick and mix" structure enables students to tailor their experience without being locked into a specific route.
Part-time options: Structured and Unstructured

One of the key strengths of the Surrey MBA is the wealth of experience and diverse perspectives that each student brings to the classroom. Recognising that a full-time programme isn’t suitable for everyone, Surrey Business School has introduced two distinct part-time formats. These options are designed to support professionals looking to upskill alongside their current roles or commitments, as well as local businesses aiming to develop their talent.
- Structured Part-Time: A two-year format with approximately 30 days of on-campus study (alongside additional reading and independent work). Ideal for those who thrive with a consistent schedule.
- Unstructured Part-Time: A flexible option completed over two to five years, designed for professionals balancing complex work or home commitments.
Both formats maintain the high-impact Surrey MBA experience and students on the part-time programme study with the full-time cohort to encourage fruitful classroom discussions.
New February entry point
For the first time, the Surrey MBA is offering a February intake alongside the traditional September start, giving professionals greater flexibility in planning their study around personal and professional commitments.
Shaping business leaders for a disruptive world

“The business landscape changes fast,” says Deji Sotunde, Director of the MBA programme. “We need to ensure our MBA responds to that by offering a relevant and transformational experience for professionals.”
With these forward-thinking enhancements, the Surrey MBA continues to build on its strong reputation for innovation, leadership, and impact – now with more flexibility and personalisation than ever before.
