Plan your visit

We’ve designed the day around what prospective students tell us matters most - so you can expect more from your visit.

Top tips to make the most of your visit

Book and attend your subject talk

We know that finding out more about your subject is the top reason for coming to an open day. Places need to be booked in advance for subject talks. Make sure you secure your place and build your day around this session. You’ll discover what you’ll learn, how you’ll be taught and how your course connects to placements and future careers.

Check in on arrival

Check-in marquee

Start at check-in to collect your printed programme and dedicated open day map. Our team will help you find your first session and answer any initial questions, so you can begin your day with confidence.

Please arrive in plenty of time before your booked subject talk(s) to make the most of your visit. We have two campuses here in Guildford, Stag Hill and Manor Park, make sure to check your e-ticket for check-in location details and opening times.

See your subject in action

For many courses, you can explore the specialist facilities you’ll use - from labs and studios, to classrooms and clinical spaces. For some subjects, a guided tour follows straight after your talk. For others, you’ll be able to book a tour slot on the day. Our team will direct you, so you don’t miss out.

Talk to your future lecturers

Visit the subject drop-in areas for one-to-one conversations with the people who will teach you. Ask about modules, contact hours, assessments, placements, and course structure, and get a real understanding of what studying your course at Surrey is like.

Attend our talks

Student accommodation at Manor Park campus

Throughout the day we will be running general talks on all things Surrey to help answer all your questions and make sure you come away feeling well-prepared to make your decision.

Visit accommodation

Seeing where you could live is one of the top reasons prospective students attend an open day. Explore a variety of our accommodation rooms across different price bands on a self-guided basis and find the option that feels right for you.

Visit the information fair

Speak to staff and student support teams, discover the opportunities to help you succeed at Surrey, and get answers to your questions about studying and living here.

Take a campus tour

Tours of our Stag Hill campus are led by student ambassadors, giving you first-hand insight into life at Surrey. Explore lecture halls, libraries, social spaces and green areas, and see how everything connects on our campus. Take a virtual tour in the meantime.

Take your time

Rock climbing walls

Build in breaks to explore and soak up the atmosphere. Wander our beautiful leafy campus, see the lake, enjoy a drink or snack from one of our coffee shops or food trucks, and experience the spaces where students live, study, and socialise.

Explore our student facilities

Take a look at the Surrey Sports Park, home to an Olympic-sized pool, climbing walls, a newly upgraded gym and sports courts including brand-new padel courts. Whether you enjoy competitive sport or simply want access to excellent facilities, it’s part of the wider student experience at Surrey.

Explore Guildford

Use our free shuttle buses running between campus and the train station to discover more of Guildford town centre. Understanding the place you’ll call home is just as important as choosing your course.
