Ameer Choudrie

Ameer is an Actor, Educator and Coach.

A British Actor with over 18 years of professional experience and credits.  Alongside acting, splits his time alongside teaching and directing, coaching and facilitating for within Actor Training Institutions, Youth Theatre and Community Based Organisations. 

Ameer works as a Freelance Associate Artist for the National Youth Theatre and has worked as a Freelance Facilitator for the The Old Vic.

He has also facilitated workshops on the themes of Unconscious Bias and Cultural Diversity Training for Talawa Theatre Company and was part of the Inc Arts Training Team delivering Anti-Racism sessions across the UK Arts Sector.

Ameer has also spent time working as the Widening Participation and Outreach Officer at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Visiting Lecturer at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Visiting Practitioner at Fourth Monkey Actor Training and Drama School and as a Course Leader for a BA Honours Acting for Stage and Screen course. 

His values concentrate on promoting positive evolution within the Theatre Industry through embodying a practice of widening access and participation to all demographics that are a representation of today’s society and working positively towards outreach – reaching those communities that have been underrepresented for so long.

These values also translate into the work he is doing in sport, specifically supporting the Grassroots and Professional Game of Football as a UEFA Licensed Football Coach and Talent ID Scout.

As a coach, he is part of the Reading FC Women’s First Team Coaching Staff driving performance, player development and wellbeing on and off the pitch shaping how they train, compete and progress together.

As a Community Champion working for the FA, Ameer is part of a workforce to support the growth of affiliated & recreational football for all communities who are currently disproportionately represented across the game.

Ameer also works as a freelance consultant to corporate and legal sectors offering workshops and masterclasses around building confidence using body language, communication and vocal practices.

At GSA - Guildford School of Acting, Ameer is a Senior Lecturer in Acting and the Programme Leader for Cert HE Foundation Acting Course having previously led both Cert HE Programmes in Acting and Musical Theatre.
