About

Chris is a Chartered Occupational Health Psychologist and NHS strategy leader, serving as Group Director of Strategy at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals Foundation Trust. He was appointed Honorary Professor in the University of Surrey’s School of Medicine in March 2026 and has a critical role in the relationship between the University and his two NHS Trusts.

His career spans senior roles at the Royal Free London and South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, where he led major programmes in workforce, organisational development, research, and digital mental health innovation. Chris holds a Professional Doctorate in Occupational Health Psychology and Management from Birkbeck, University of London, with research focused on supporting doctors returning to clinical practice.

He has an extensive publication record across mental health, simulation-based education, and workforce wellbeing, with work appearing in BMJ Open, The Lancet Psychiatry, and Digital Health. His current research interests include occupational health and wellbeing, digital healthcare innovations, and healthcare management.
