Debbie Burns-Pegler
About
Biography
Debbie joined Surrey Business School as a Lecturer in Law in 2019 and specialises in Employment Law and Business Law.
She holds a Master's degree in International Law from the University of Liverpool and a PGCE in Lifelong Learning. With over two decades of experience in legal education, Debbie has taught extensively across Higher and Further education, covering both the foundational core subjects including Contract, Tort and Criminal Law and specialist areas such as Employment Law, Company Law and Human Resource Management.
During a five-year period in education management, Debbie served as Head of Business, overseeing curriculum delivery and enhancement of teaching quality across business-related disciplines.
Before embarking on an academic career, she worked in the Financial Services sector, primarily in technical advisory roles and also has experience in employment relations, providing support on workplace rights and equality issues.
