Dr Laura Dando
About
Biography
Dr Dando graduated from the University of Southampton in 2003 with a Bachelor of Medicine, receiving both Clinical Honours and Clinical Distinction. She also obtained a First Class intercalated BSc in Biomedical Sciences. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
She worked in Primary Care across Surrey and Hampshire before settling in Aldershot in 2016, where she continues to practise as a GP. Her interest in medical education developed through her role as a GP Clinical Supervisor.
In 2017, Dr Dando joined the inaugural cohort of Physician Associate students at the University of Surrey as an Associate Tutor, progressing to Lecturer on the programme from 2018 to 2024.
Dr Dando is now a Clinical Senior Lecturer within the School of Medicine. She acts as the Academic EDI Lead, co-leads Year 1 Team-Based Learning, and is a Clinical Skills Tutor.
