Building a more resilient hospitality workforce: A dynamic capabilities perspectiveThe hospitality industry is vulnerable to crises. In times of uncertainty, being resilient is essential for any hospitality organization. Though resilience has been extensively studied from the organizational viewpoint, resilience at the individual level has not been explored to date. Through the perspective of dynamic capabilities, this study considers individual resilience as the capabilities that one will continuously develop to cope with changes in life. Additionally, resilience is shaped by cultural variations since an individual’s behavior is profoundly influenced by norms, shared values and beliefs, varying from nation to nation, job to job, and workplace to workplace. This research aims to understand how the hospitality workforce has developed and modified its capabilities to adapt to turbulent working environments and career disruptions.
