Section of Oncology
Within the Section of Oncology we are conducting cutting edge research into a range of novel ways to improve cancer therapy and diagnosis. We are analysing the microbiome of both the gut and tumour of cancer patients to identify the mechanisms by which ‘good’ and ‘bad’ bacteria can influence the development of cancer and its response to treatment. In addition we are investigating the use of oncolytic viruses as a treatments for cancer and as ways to improve immunotherapy.
We are working on a range of cancer including prostate cancer and pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
