Why did you choose to study this course at Surrey?

I have been an actor for many years and now feel like I may be ready to diversify my career. The only course available when I went to drama school many years ago was a diploma. Being able to do the degree top-up will give me the theoretical practice as well as the many years of professional experience I have. I’m hoping the course will take me on a new journey of study and potentially a new career path. 

What are the best things about the course?

The course being online means that it can fit into my daily life and work. I’m currently working in voiceover and it fits really well with my studio schedule. I’m also enjoying studying again after a really long time!

What are your career plans?

I currently work in voiceover but I’m looking for other career options. I have taught for many years and would like to get back into some form of teaching again. 

I have over 20 years of professional experience so I’m hoping with the degree I can become a more rounded educator. 

What advice do you have for anyone thinking of studying this course?

Go into the course with an open mind ready to learn. The workload is intense so make sure you can dedicate a certain amount of time each week to studying. Get as much out of the course as you can by reading and researching. Find joy in the unknown and don’t be afraid!
