What do you like about your course and why?

I enjoy my course because it combines academic theory with real world applications within the international airline and airport industry. The programme offers valuable insights into airport and airline operations, safety and strategic decision-making on a global scale.

A particular highlight has been participating in industry excursions, including a visit to Farnborough Airport where I experienced cabin crew fire and safety training. These hands on opportunities enhance the learning experience and clearly demonstrate how the theoretical knowledge is applied in practice.

What do you enjoy most about Surrey?

What I enjoy most about Surrey is the friendships I have built throughout my time on the course. As a commuter student, I don’t always have the opportunity to fully engage in the wider social life on campus. However, being part of my program has allowed me to meet new people and connect with like-minded individuals who share similar interest and career goals.

The sense of community has made my experience at both enjoyable and rewarding.

What do you want to do when you graduate?

When I graduate, I plan to begin my career within the aviation industry gaining practical experience in airline or airport operations. My long-term ambition is to progress into a role in security management and working closely with how artificial intelligence can help improve security measures.

What's your advice for new students?

I would encourage students to be open-minded and take full advantage of opportunities this course offers. Engaging with the practical elements such as industry visits and guest lectures really enhance your understanding in the aviation sector. It is also important to build connections with classmates and academic staff as this creates a strong support network. Overall, the course provides a valuable balance of academic knowledge and real world insight into the airline and airport industry.
