I really appreciate the fast and engaging pace of the course. It is going very swiftly, and it is really interesting to keep up. While difficult at times, the lecturers make all the difference.
Entry year
2025Why did you choose to study your course at Surrey?
I knew that I wanted to further develop my practical legal skills and be assisted in the preparation for the SQE, which is imperative for my future. I knew that it was a good idea to go back to something I already felt comfortable with and knew that the support I would receive would be unparalleled. I was happy that Surrey had an option to consider and compare against other universities!
What are the best things about Surrey and your course?
The best thing about Surrey for me is its location near London! As I am now a proud commuter, it is easy for me to get in and out of London for my allocated lectures.
In terms of my course, I really appreciate the fast and engaging pace of the course. It is going very swiftly, and it is really interesting to keep up. While difficult at times, the lecturers, whom you can rely on, make all the difference.
What are the best things about life here as a postgraduate student?
The flexibility! I really appreciate that teaching hours are contained within 2/3 days of the week, which allows me to complete personal studying outside of the university and also work alongside my studies. It allows me to attend courts and other legal events such as open days and networking evenings.
What are your career plans?
My future plans are to go on and complete the SQE and qualify as a solicitor under a training contract.
My interest lies in both politics and law, which has led me to public relations (PR). Looking for a job in that sphere is something I would be keen to attain. However, I am still looking at options in law firms and the courts. I am not limiting my options as my skillset is so varied and I know that I can learn on the job to figure out what fits best - thanks to an LLB and LLM at Surrey!
