Workshops

We provide a variety of professional development workshops for University of Surrey staff.

Building your SurreyLearn Course

This is a two hour workshop for staff new to building courses on SurreyLearn. It shows you how to build a structure, add resources and create learning activities for your SurreyLearn course using a variety of media.

Engaging students with EVS

This workshop explores ways in which the university's Electronic Voting System (EVS) can be used to increase interaction and improve student engagement in your classroom.

Creating online tests in SurreyLearn

This two-hour workshop is designed for staff who would like to further develop their SurreyLearn course building skills by learning how to create and deploy online tests for formative and summative assessment.

Online marking with Turnitin

This ‘on-demand’ workshop provides staff with hands-on experience of using Turnitin’s Grademark tool to mark assignments submitted online to SurreyLearn. The workshop will guide you through submitting an assignment and receiving feedback online as a student and providing feedback online as a member of staff.

Audio for education

This ‘on-demand’ workshop explores how audio can be used as an effective medium for teaching and learning. You’ll learn the basics of working with audio and how to produce audio based learning materials for the benefit of your students.

Workshops “on-demand”

In addition to those listed above we offer “on-demand” workshops tailored to meet the needs of groups of staff from individual faculties (internal users only).
