China Agricultural University-University of Surrey Joint Institute
Overview of the Joint Educational Institute
The University of Surrey is proud to announce the launch of our new Joint Institute with China Agricultural University – one of China's leading research universities – opening to students in Beijing from September 2026.
About
The China Agricultural University–University of Surrey Joint Institute welcomed its first students in September 2026, following approval from China’s Ministry of Education in 2025.
Students at one of China’s leading universities will be able to study for University of Surrey degrees in artificial intelligence, computer science and electronic engineering, taught entirely in English, through a new Joint Institute established with China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing.
It will offer three four-year undergraduate programmes – artificial intelligence, computer science, and electronic engineering – and is designed to give students access to Surrey’s academic expertise and curriculum while studying at one of China’s top institutions. Teaching will be delivered in English and upon completion students will receive dual degrees from Surrey and from CAU. Students may also apply to spend some time at Surrey’s campus in Guildford, studying alongside students from across the world.
Why choose a dual-degree?
Whether studying in China or the UK, the dual-degree exposes you to highly interactive and challenging teaching styles used in the UK education system.
How to apply?
Your decision to study at China Agricultural University in China or the University of Surrey in the UK will determine your entry requirements and application process.
