The study of mathematics is not only central to science, technology and finance-related fields, it also provides the logical insight, analytical skills and intellectual discipline that are in high demand in areas such as law, business and management.
Our course is designed for students who want to explore mathematics beyond the level of their first degree (BSc or equivalent), and provides the ideal stepping-stone not only for a future in academic research, but also a wide range of other careers.
In addition to choosing from a selection of taught modules, students also get the opportunity to carry out an extended research project – the subject of their dissertation – under the supervision of a member of the department.
