Virtual summer school
The virtual summer school is a free 5-day online programme with a mixture of group work and independent study, as well as evening entertainment. The deadline to apply is Sunday 3 April 2022.

You'll be provided with everything you need to get the best out of the programme, including technology and connectivity support for eligible students.
About the virtual summer school
The University's virtual summer school features a varied timetable of pre-recorded and interactive subject-specific lectures and seminars, general information (for example personal statements, student finance, interviewing and choosing a university and course) and sessions to help you develop your study skills and prepare you for the transition to university.
You'll also get to meet our wonderful team of student ambassadors studying the courses you are aspiring to, as well as academics and industry professionals.
In addition, you'll work in groups to complete a research project in your chosen subjects, which you will present virtually to your peers, University academics and staff.
We'll also be offering a variety of evening entertainment including quizzes, clubs and society tasters and wellbeing activities.
The week will be a mixture of screen work, independent study and reading, and you will not be expected to sit in front of a computer the whole time.
IT support
To help you make the most of the virtual summer school, we can give you extra support with IT and/or wi-fi connectivity if you don't have these at home. Please tell us what extra IT support you may need when you apply.
