Abstract
Unfortunately, our IAS Visiting Fellow Tanja Beers has had to postpone her visit to Surrey and cannot now give her planned talk until the autumn. In her place Carl Thompson, one of the convenors of the Sustainability, Creativity and Communication research group will give an introduction to questions of aesthetics, art and literature in relation to the Sustainability project. It will consider why Sustainability needs to engage aesthetic media and practices as well as technological innovations and political/economic reform, and will also explore some of the distinctive affordances of art, literature and the humanities when it comes advancing Sustainability in society.
