Guardian puts Surrey in UK's elite top 5 universities for drama and dance

Surrey is the star of the influential league table for performing arts.

Surrey is now ranked among the UK's elite five best universities for dance and drama, thanks to an impressive rise of 15 places in the Guardian University Guide league table 2015. The University as a whole moved into the top 6 for the first time, above institutions such as LSE, UCL, Durham, Lancaster and Warwick. The Guardian bases its rankings on factors such as teaching excellence, student satisfaction and employability rates.

The category of Dance and Drama covers much of our teaching and research in the School of Arts (including Theatre Studies and Dance), as well as programmes such as Acting, Musical Theatre, Professional Production Skills and Contemporary Theatre Making that are delivered by the prestigious Guildford School of Acting (GSA), which is part of the University of Surrey.

The University recently achieved a top-10 student satisfaction rating of 92 per cent in the National Student Survey (NSS), ranking us 9th in the UK.
