Will you help students have a great Surrey experience?

Studying at the University of Surrey is a once in a lifetime experience - with your help we can make it even better.

‘Climbing trips’. ‘Lasting friendships’. ‘Led Zeppelin.’

These are just a few memories from alumni about their time at Surrey.

Going to university is a once in a lifetime experience – a time for exploration, growth, and living independently.

As well as academic achievement, some of the most special memories from university are formed outside the classroom – the extra-curricular activities that make studying here such a rich experience.

For some that might be using the first-class sporting facilities in Surrey Sports Park or developing a business idea with Student Enterprise. Others get involved in clubs and societies from volunteering to mechanical engineering.

Support from Surrey’s alumni and friends makes sure that Surrey remains a great place to study. For example, the Electronics and Amateur Radio Society (EARS) received funds to kit out the first University makerspace in the UK.

Phil Handley, BEng in Space Technology and Planetary Exploration said: “My degree gives me exposure to so many new technologies and techniques, but there is no replacement for having the space to experiment and test drive new ideas.

Sometimes you see people who excel in the theoretical aspects of their degree but flounder in the lab – which is why having a space like this is really important to practise the skills for serious employment in a technical role after graduation.”

With your help we can make sure students leave Surrey equipped with the skills and experience they need to create a bright future.

Will you help students have a great Surrey experience by making your gift today?
