The Braithwaite Family Foundation Scholarship for Medical Physics

This scholarship will support one postgraduate student studying Medical Physics MSc by providing a full fee waiver of £11,900 (for the 2026/27 academic year).

About

Surrey’s MSc in Medical Physics is well established and includes all aspects of the modern applications of physics to medicine. We have close links with specialist teaching and regional Trust hospitals, as well as research institutes. These connections provide lecturers with up-to-date experience and outstanding opportunities for research project work.

This scholarship will cover the fees of a UK student on our MSc Medical Physics programme (£11,900 for 2026/27).

The terms of the scholarship listed above are at the discretion of the donor and may be subject to change before awarding.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Be a home/UK student studying Medical Physics MSc, starting in September 2026.
  • Hold a second-class degree or higher in physics, or a related subject, at undergraduate level.

Following the closing deadline, shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview with academic staff and members of the Braithwaite family. Interviews will take place in early September.
