Subject spotlight: International Corporate Finance

The MSc International Corporate Finance course at Surrey Business School provides you with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work as a finance professional in corporations or financial institutions.

The course is designed with corporate finance and corporate governance at its core and is delivered by expert research academics in corporate finance and practitioner academics with vast industry experience.

You will learn theories behind significant corporate finance decisions such as dividend policy and mergers and acquisitions and be exposed to advanced equity and firm valuation techniques, which are important to any finance professional.

Use of the Bloomberg suite is incorporated into the course, and you’ll have the opportunity to obtain a certificate during your studies.

You will also engage with other statistical software such as Stata and Matlab and have access to one of the most comprehensive sets of databases that financial analysts use in the industry. All of which will enhance your employability skills. The course is designed to equip you with the skills to succeed in today’s complex and dynamic financial environment.

Besides the academic experience that I’ve acquired during my studies, I’ve also acquired other important skills. In the Corporate Finance and International Corporate Governance modules, I was chosen to be the team leader for the group projects. This role has helped me develop and enhance my interpersonal and professional skills by organizing, communicating, and interacting with the group members to successfully complete the tasks and meet the deadlines.
