My research project
Per- and Poly Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) treatment using novel hybridisation approach to sonolysis.Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a class of synthetic chemicals containing carbon-fluorine bonds, one of the strongest bonds in organic chemistry. They pose significant environmental and health concerns due to their persistence, bioaccumulation properties, and toxicity. This study focuses on the innovative application of ultrasound (US), cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), and biochar to remove and decompose PFAS in water, addressing the challenges associated with conventional treatment methods.
