My research project
Failure theory for UD fibre-reinforced laminae and optimum laminate stacking sequenceThe foundation of this research project is a well-known failure theory for unidirectional laminae that, despite its widespread use, may yield inaccurate results, especially under 3D stress states. Amendments to this failure theory will be systematically presented to overcome each of its weaknesses until a new failure theory emerges that can better predict failure under any stress state. The application of this new failure theory is also investigated to determine the optimum stacking sequence in laminates.
