"Collective Culpability, Individual Harm, from a female perspective: A Thematic Analysis of the Lived Impact of the Joint Enterprise Doctrine on Defendants and Their Families, "This research examines how the doctrine of joint enterprise produces individual and familial harm, focusing specifically on the experiences of female defendants and their families. It explores how collective culpability—where individuals are held responsible for the actions of others—operates within gendered and relational contexts, often shaping outcomes in ways that disadvantage women. Through a thematic analysis of lived experiences, the study investigates the emotional, social, and structural consequences of collective liability, highlighting how criminal justice processes extend punishment beyond the offender to their families. Ultimately, the research aims to shed light on the human impact of joint enterprise from a distinctly female perspective.
