Navigate occupational identity threats: Job crafting and work engagement among gig workers in the service industryWhile gig work has been part of our society for quite some time, the introduction of digital platform-based gig work has carved a significant niche in the global workforce and attracted considerable growth in research. However, a holistic review of the gig workers’ characteristics could provide the industry with valuable insights into how to sustain and further develop this sector. This study aims to investigate how gig workers' occupational identity threats may contribute to job crafting and further extend a positive impact on work engagement.
