"Studying for a PhD has been a life-changing experience. I have developed as an independent researcher and learned a lot about life in general."
"The reason why I am doing a PHD was to enhance my future career prospects. I would like to become a lecturer and to achieve that I would need a postgraduate degree.
I did a MSC in Business Administration in Iran. I wanted to do my PHD in one of the best research-led universites in UK and after careful consideration I chose the University of Surrey.
Studying for a PhD has been a life-changing experience. I have developed as an independent researcher and learned a lot about life in general.
I have developed skills that I do not think I could have developed doing anything else.
My supervisor was supportive and he was always guided me. He was the person who made me rely on my own initiatives and be independent. I have also benefited a lot from the Researcher Development Programme (RDP) workshops.
At Surrey Business School we have seminars and we always have guest lecturers and researchers presenting, which is a very good way of connecting and networking with external organisations and universities. In the wider University I love Surrey Sports Park, all the facilities and excellent services. I have been to quite a lot of short city breaks with Students' Union. Regularly travelling to and from London. Guildford is in a convenient location in terms of airports.
I am proud about the amount of knowledge I gained during my PHD. I have developed as a better person, and I feel I am more professional now.
Following my PhD I would like to teach at the University of Surrey."
