I contacted several potential supervisors from various universities but was instantly seduced by the accessibility and generosity of spirit of staff from the School of Literature and Languages at the University of Surrey .

If you have the means to study a masters, do it. Honestly, it shapes you as a person, changes the way you think, and helps you figure out things. You will also get the chance to meet amazing people.

The experiences and opportunities provided by Surrey have enhanced various skills that are highly valued in the job market. These include adaptability, communication skills, organisational abilities, critical thinking, and intercultural competence.

The University of Surrey demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusivity and support for minority groups on campus. I was particularly impressed by an inclusive meeting that aimed to gather suggestions and advice regarding our students' needs.

I was pleasantly surprised by how close-knit the CTS department is and how approachable the lecturers are. Within a few weeks, I really felt like I knew almost everybody in the department, both fellow students and the teaching staff.

Studying English Literature alongside French has offered me an opportunity to explore a rich palette of texts and insights into literary and historical periods, such as Romanticism and the Middle Ages, that I had not encountered in depth prior to my degree course

The course is a chance for me to upskill in terms of translation technologies, develop my understanding of the languages industries and expand my existing translation practice.
