Victoria

The contrast between big business lectures and the small intimate language classes exposes me to all sort of learning styles and engages me further in the topics.

What do you like about your course and why?

I enjoy simultaneously studying two different courses at once, both being relevant to what I want to do later in life. The contrast between big business lectures and the small intimate language classes exposes me to all sort of learning styles and engages me further in the topics. The lecturers are always there to help and provide plenty of extra learning materials to further our understanding in areas we want to improve on.

What do you enjoy most about Surrey?

I like that there is almost always something to do on campus, whether it's tied to a society or something the student union is hosting, it adds a lot of variety of social activities that don't only include clubbing. Societies feel very welcoming and are completely student-led so they understand what we want as an experience.

Taking on the role as Vice President of the Pole Fitness Society enabled me to gain further responsibilities in managing a society, finances and events.

What do you want to do when you graduate?

There are a lot of avenues I'm open to trying out, but initially my intention of going to university was to propel a pathway into becoming an entrepreneur owning my own business in digital marketing, perhaps abroad, that is ethical and does sustainable practices. I'm also interested in possibly being a translator in a Spanish speaking country or working in the travel and tourism industry.
