Student Florence Andrews Media and Communication BSc (Hons) There are so many reasons why I love Surrey but I think the main one is that Surrey feels like a home away from home, everyone is so friendly and approachable and it is always so lively.
Student Rhyne Chambers Modern Languages, French and Spanish BA (Hons) I like the fact the Surrey allows you to have a 50/50 split between your two languages choices, as that was something other universities didn’t offer. I also like that students are given a choice of subject for written assignments.
Student Alice Brooks Modern Languages (French and Spanish) BA (Hons) We have access to a huge range of books and materials, computers with specialised software for language learners, and staff on hand during the weekdays to provide support. The classrooms also boast features to support listening practice.
Student Jack Bell Media and Communication BSc (Hons) I like how there is such a broad variety of modules that can link with other disciplines such as sociology, criminology and politics.
Student Ioana Meta Translation and Interpreting Studies MRes What I liked most about my course is that it offered the opportunity of connecting with other translators and translation scholars through a wide range of seminars we had to attend weekly.
Student Zeynep Polat Posoflu Translation and Interpreting Studies MRes I believe this knowledge and my experience at Surrey will be a big step towards my dream career of becoming a professional translator
Student Lisa Cosham Intercultural Business Communication and Marketing MA If I could go back and do my years at Surrey again, I would. Everything. The whole rollercoaster. I wouldn’t trade my time there for anything!
Student Owen O'Donnell Media and Communication BSc (Hons) Owen O'Donnell originally visited the University of Surrey on an open day to accompany a friend. He was so taken with the friendliness of those he met, he decided to apply himself. Here's his story.
