Overview

The University of Surrey is committed to raising the aspiration and attainment of young people from a range of backgrounds, with a particular focus on working with groups who are underrepresented in higher education.

To do this, the Widening Participation and Outreach Department delivers a full programme of activities, including:

  • Single-day events such as information, advice and guidance days
  • Subject specific school visits
  • More sustained engagement, including e-mentoring programmes and residential summer schools.

We work with students as young as ten years old and aim to support students at different stages of their academic journey through primary and secondary school.

More information can be found on our schools and colleges webpages.

Our access and participation plans set out the University's fee limits and the access and progression measures we intend to put in place.

Access and participation plans cover full-time students and (from 2012-13) part-time students studying at an intensity of at least 25 per cent of a full-time course.

All of our access and participation plans for this year and preceding years are available to view. The access and participation plan that applies to you is based on the academic year in which you started your current studies with us.
