At the University of Surrey, we help you connect with talented, driven students through a variety of tailored events—from career fairs and drop-in sessions to workshops that build real-world skills. We know every student is unique, so we create opportunities for meaningful engagement open to all disciplines.
Sustainable travel for employer events
In line with the University’s guidance for sustainable transportation and travel, we encourage all external visitors to choose environmentally friendly travel options when attending our in-person employer events, wherever possible and reasonable. This could include booking public transport or organising car sharing when travelling in groups to our career fairs. We’re excited to share some of our key initiatives designed to help you maximize your engagement with our students.
We run a number of different career fairs at Surrey, including the Part-time Job, Graduate Job and Autumn Careers & Placements Fair.
Our flagship Autumn Careers & Placements Fair connects you with over 2,000 highly motivated students on campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet candidates, raise your brand profile, and showcase your vacancies.
Our skills sessions are open to all students, where you can share expertise on topics such as CV writing, interview techniques, networking and more. These 1-hour sessions (virtual or in-person) help students build their skills set while also providing an excellent platform for promoting your opportunities and raising brand awareness.
Introduce your company in a creative and informal setting with a Drop-in Session. Set up a display in a high-traffic area on campus, where students can learn about your brand and career opportunities. With fun elements like coffee carts, games, and more, these sessions offer a relaxed environment for meaningful conversations.
Practical workshops focus on equipping students with the specific skills they need for recruitment and onboarding. These personalised sessions offer a hands-on experience, allowing students to gain confidence and feel comfortable throughout your recruitment processes. Our main practical workshops are mock interviews and assessment centres.
Insight Experiences are an exciting way for you to offer students a behind-the-scenes look at your company culture, facilities, and career opportunities.
Whether through guided tours, presentations, or interactive sessions, these events give students valuable insights into what it's like to work in your industry. We will take our students to your doorstep.
