It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Aisha Roberts, 32, who graduated from the University with a BSc in Sociology, Culture and New Media in 2007.
Aisha tragically drowned while snorkelling with friends near the island of Koh Rang in Cambodia.
Friend and Surrey graduate Bilun Gunes said: “Aisha was a very valuable colleague, a great mentor, a Surrey alumna, and precious daughter to her family. Losing her was a tragedy to everyone who ever had chance to meet her.”
Aisha’s family and friends would like her death to have a positive impact on as many people as she did in her life. Aisha was a supporter of blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan and set up a fundraising page which her family has taken over in her memory.
